Origin: New Guinea

Grain Type: Straight and interlocking grain with a coarse texture

Color: Yellow or orange-brown in color with distinctive yellow deposits, ranges from light to dark

Advantages: Exceptionally durable for all manner of wood projects, high stability when used in flooring, takes dark stains very well

Disadvantages: Has a temporary odor when cut and can be difficult to work with
